Welcome!

About Me

Hi, I’m Amanda! I’m a birth doula, artist, educator, and lifelong learner based in the Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore City.

Every person’s birth journey is so unique and as a birth doula, I am delighted to learn more about you and how I might best support you and your partner. My goal is to empower you in your birth journey – to provide you with the tools and evidence-based resources for you to make informed decisions, the comfort measures and physical/emotional supports for you to feel seen and held.

My doula practice goes hand-in-hand with my art practice because the one nourishes the other, and vice-versa. As a quilter, in particular, I am drawn to the warm embrace of a quilt – it’s a tangible manifestation of the compassion and care I offer clients. I’ve always been drawn to the transformative, yet grounding power that is art. From a young age, art has allowed me to be present, to show up authentically. It’s helped me better understand my own emotions and in attuning to others. It’s one of my favorite ways to connect with the world around me.

As a former classroom teacher and special educator, I am well-versed in adaptability and advocacy. Teaching taught me how to listen and respond to my environment, in the moment, while also building strong, communicative relationships.

I am actively continuing my learning and development as a birth worker through classes and trainings to show up as best I can. Similarly, you’ll also often find me in a local art or quilting class.

I’d be thrilled to connect and learn more about you! Please reach out and I’ll get back to you shortly.
